My Botox experience

Hey guys,

So today's topic, is likely to be a little controversial. I know a lot of people are anti cosmetic procedures, and that's totally cool, it's your life and you're free to do what you like. Luckily, I am also free to do what I like as well, so it all works out swell :)

Anyway, I am a frowner, I always have been, when I'm working, watching TV, driving, reading, anything that involves concentration, and you can guarantee I'm frowning. Now, I am only 29, so wrinkles/fine lines, aren't a huge issue for me, meaning that most people actually think I am younger than I am (SCORE!), BUT, due to my excessive frowning, I had a canyon on a wrinkle between my brows.

I am told by my friends and family, that it's no big deal, it's not that bad etc. etc. but I have been very conscious of it for the last couple of years and have been tempted by Botox on many occasions. I felt that it aged my face if it wasn't disguised with make up, and basically, I hated it and wanted it gone!

Cue my visit to AM Aesthetics Belfast, in the spirit of honesty, I will tell you, that Alex has been a long time client of mine, this helped me make my decision to go with AM Aesthetics, as I know and trust Alex. Anywho, I popped along for a consultation, and I had a chat with Alex about my issues with my frown line and how I would like it to look, Alex talked me through the product, Azzulure, how it worked and what I could expect over the coming weeks and months.

A week later, I returned for my treatment. So the first thing everyone asks, did it hurt? Honestly, no. The injection right on the frown line area didn't hurt at all, I didn't even feel it, the ones slight above my eyes, were.... uncomfortable, I wouldn't call them painful at all, but I felt it, if that makes sense.

For the next 4 hours, you must sit upright, for the following 24 hours, you need to do some slight 'excersizes' (which is just raising your brow a few times).

(You can see the 3 red dots where the injections where)

It takes 2 weeks for the Azzalure to take full effect, so whilst you do see some slight changed in the first 3 or 4 days, it takes the full 2 weeks to see the real result. So two weeks later, I was back to the mirror! So the number 2 question I have had since my treatment, can you move your face? The answer is, absolutely yes! I can lift my brows, and I can still frown, slightly. Obviously, the movement is much more restricted as the muscle is frozen now, but I can still make normal expressions and people are genuinely surprised when I tell them, as it is extremely natural.

So this is me now, I have just taken these pictures a few minutes ago, one I am frowning and the other I am raising my eyebrows.

Needless to say, I am over the moon with the results, it's been about 2 months since my treatment, it should last around 4 months, and I will definitely be touching it up when the time comes!!

If you're considering getting botox, I can highly recommend Alex at AM Aesthetics, if you're not in Northern Ireland, I suggest you do some research in to aestheticians in your area, ask to see their work, recommendations, etc. Do remember, you are having an injection in your face, you want to make sure they know exactly what they're doing!

If you do want to get in touch with Alex, you can see her prices and details on her website - http://am-aesthetics.co.uk/

So what do you guys think? Would you have Botox? Have you already had it? What was your experience?
